For those witches and pagans in the US, have you been living publicly as a witch or pagan?

With the Christian Right gaining power and momentum, are you now or becoming concerned about being visible? Are you considering changing how public you are about your beliefs and practices? Will you maybe hide or no longer wear your religious jewelry? Hide any religious tattoos?

Or do you still feel safe and don't think it'll head that way?

I've never been public about being a witch so for me nothing has changed about my behavior. My tattoos and piercings can be hidden with a short sleeved shirt, except for one tattoo on my forearm, which is a compass rose, so easy enough to explain away. My only day to day jewelry are a Claddagh ring and a coven pendant which stays under my shirt most of the time.

As to feeling safe, I imagine my political views will get me sent to an El Salvadorian prison camp well before my religious beliefs do.

As one of the few "Out and open" pagans in my area, I have had a target on me since I started hosting a Pagan Coffee Circle.

Do I feel safe right now? No.

Will that stop me from being the same loud and out witch I have always been? Also no.

I know the danger, but I will not buckle to the Fash. They are gonna have to kill be, I won't submit.
